e-mams.org your guide to the diversity of Islamic thought e-mams.org began as a suggestion to us from Ingrid Mattson, President of the Islamic Society of North America, to extend the functionality behind halalfire's salat-o-matic site. The idea was further developed at a July 2007 meeting of technology professionals and Muslim leaders hosted by Harvard University's Berkman Center for the Study of Internet and Society. A few years later, the key functionality has been reviewed by Muslim scholars, imams and community leaders in the United States and Britain and updated per their suggestions. The result is a site that promises to empower both Muslim and non-Muslim individuals and contextualize Islamic practice in the modern world. Stay tuned... |
